Let’s have a look at 12″ Vinyl Album (Deluxe Edition)of Pure Comedy, the third studio album by Josh Tillman under his moniker Father John Misty.  The Title was released under Bella Union/Sub Pop on April 7th 2017.
Cartoonist Ed Steed is the pen behind the amazing artwork for the album. Edward Steward is a contributor of ‘The New Yorker’, and you can browse part of his work in the former magazine profile.
But for now let’s go back to album packaging! Content is encased in clear slipcase, that shows the die-cut jacket with ‘morning’ background. The back cover is presented in its entire square rather than the 2:3 proportion front cover, and has some cuttings on top alluding to another ‘sleevescape’.
A title sticker is attached on the slipcase.

Alluminium and Copper vinyls, protected by bi-scape sleeves, include the following tracks:

Side 1
Pure Comedy
Total Entertainment Forever
Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution
Ballad of the Dying Man

Side 2
Birdie
Leaving LA

Side 3
A Bigger Paper Bag
When the God of Love Returns There’ll Be Hell to Pay
Smoochie
Two Wildly Different Perspectives
The Memo

Side 4
So I’m Growing Old on Magic Mountain
In Twenty Years or So

The engaging part of the artwork is represented by a customisable cover thanks to different background sleeves: sunrise, noon, sunset, night.

The deluxe version include a poster with liner notes, lyrics and cartoon sketches on the other side, that you can see unfolded below!

The whole package offers also a holographic tarot card designed by Edward Steed, as well!
